Do you do New Year’s countdown in North Korea?

I don’t exactly remember seeing a New Year’s countdown on television while I was growing up in North Korea. However, I remember seeing the sun rising above Mount Baekdu on television on the first day of the year. On January 1, they televised the first sunrise of the year. On Lunar New Year, they televised the star called the General’s Star on national
