News N. Korean Marshal Ri Ul Sol gets funeral in PyongyangRi's magnificent funeral may be political message to other elites, says North Korea watcher
Marshal Ri Ul Sol, who died late last week at age 94, received a state funeral on Wednesday in Pyongyang, which featured Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un laying the soil with his bare hands. Numerous North Korean state officials, senior party members, military officials participated the state funeral as well. The coffin of Ri Ul Sol, escorted by motorcycles, went through Pyongyang, passing by Mansudae Street, Pothong Gate, Yongung Street and Pipha Street.
