North Korean state media on Sunday issued video of Texas native Arturo Pierre Martinez condemning his country of citizenship and announcing plans to seek asylum in Venezuela.

The North, recently condemned over its human rights by a UN General Assembly vote, released footage of Martinez, age 29, criticizing the U.S.for human rights violations and for seeking to dominate other countries.

The North has called criticisms of its human rights record an effort by “hostile forces,” namely the U.S., in order to undermine its independence and socialist system. It also accuses the U.S. of being the world’s worst violator of human rights.
