A delegation of Agence France-Presse (AFP) headed by its Global News Director Philippe Massonnet left North Korea on Wednesday, the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on April 16.

According to the KCNA, the delegation visited various tourist attractions including the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, the Munsu Water Park and Mirim Riding Club during its stay.

Neither AFP nor the KCNA explained the goal of AFP delegation’s visit to Pyongyang, but the Moscow-based Voice of Russia (VOR) argued that the delegation’s visit was designed to lay the foundation stone of opening AFP’s Pyongyang bureau.
