The Rodong Sinmun on Thursday commemorated the anniversary of the USS Pueblo’s  capture by North Korea in 1968, calling it the “the biggest blunder in U.S. intelligence history and worst nightmare.”

The Pueblo is currently still moored in the Taedong River in Pyongyang, serving as a museum and as continuing evidence of North Korean military superiority.

The Rodong Sinmun’s editorial quoted the captain’s confession, saying “he received instructions from the U.S. CIA on conducting military espionage against Korea, and his ship was well fitted out and intruded deep into coastal waters off Wonsan.”

The article further noted that
