South Korea’s Cyber Terror Response Center on Saturday warned that a text message entitled “The video of Jang Song Thaek’s execution” is spreading throughout South Korea.

Users that click a link contained within the message, which reads “There could be a North Korean provocation or terror against South Korea following Jang Song Thaek’s execution,” risk levying unauthorized charges of approximately 250,000 won, the Center warned.

South Korea’s Cyber Terror Response Center explained that SMS messages like the one about Jang’s execution can extract personal information or make unauthorized financial charges when links within them are opened by some cell phone users.
