Seoul seeks joint probe with UN Command into North Korean border crossings

Plan seeks to formally declare incursions as armistice violations following mine blasts that injured South Korean troops

South Korea plans to investigate North Korean incursions across the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) in order to formally declare them violations of the Korean War armistice, Seoul’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday, following the Sept. 21 mine explosion that injured three ROK soldiers.

The ministry outlined the plan in a document submitted to the National Assembly’s Defense Committee for its annual parliamentary audit.
