A new mural depicting North Korean and Russian soldiers shaking hands appeared in Vladivostok on Aug. 22, causing a stir among netizens who accused its creator of glorifying militarism as the conflict in Ukraine continues to rage.

The 900-square-meter, 60-meter tall handpainted mural on a column of Vladivostok’s Golden Bridge garnered attention from the online community for its depiction of the soldiers and how it contrasts with Vladivostok’s image.
