News North Korea threatens response to Japan’s arms buildup ahead of Asian GamesKim Jong Un’s influential sister accused Japan of transforming into a ‘war state’ following Tomahawk test
Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, on Wednesday threatened Japan for transforming into a “war state,” citing Tokyo’s recent first-ever test-firing of a long-range Tomahawk cruise missile. In a statement issued through the state-run Korean Central News Agency, Kim criticized Japan’s test launch of a U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missile last week and its participation in the U.S.-Philippine Balikatan military exercise earlier this year. “Such military actions prove that Japan’s moves to formulate the possession of the capability for preemptive attack,” she said.
