North Korea is set to expand its beer presence in Russia, with another brewery setting its sights on the ally’s lucrative consumer market following the appearance of several DPRK brands in Russian supermarkets.

The Pyongyang-based Thaesong Foodstuffs and Daily Necessities Factory entered a partnership with Vladivostok’s Mega Ship firm to supply 4.5% “pale filtered pasteurized beer” to the Russian market, according to Mega Ship’s import filing with Russia’s Federal Service for Accreditation (FSA) in early June.

Mega Ship became Thaesong’s authorized distributor in July 2025 after the two sides signed a partnership contract, according to the document.

The FSA records
