South Korea’s state-run radio frequency regulator said it has not detected North Korean GPS jamming near its western island close to the inter-Korean maritime border so far this year, a stark departure from past behavior that sometimes caused havoc for nearby aircraft.

The Ministry of Science’s Central Radio Management Service (CRMS) observed no North Korean GPS jamming near Baengnyeong Island, located roughly 132 miles off the port of Incheon, an agency official told NK News on Friday.
