For years, South Korea’s policy on North Korea has been built on a goal that Pyongyang now refuses to even discuss. Now, the Lee Jae Myung administration is taking a new approach and changing the order of its operations. 

South Korean Unification Minister Chung Dong-young said Thursday that the administration has “reset the goals of its North Korea policy” by moving from a “denuclearization first” approach to a “peace first” strategy, outlining a more pragmatic path toward curbing Pyongyang’s nuclear program.
