Canada is strengthening its military commitment to the Korean Peninsula as part of a broader focus on the Indo-Pacific, reflecting a recognition that North Korean threats extend beyond the region, according to the former deputy commander of the U.N. Command (UNC).

Speaking to NK News on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue last week, Lt. Gen. Derek Macaulay said Canada views its relationship with South Korea as a long-term strategic partnership rooted in the Korean War and reinforced by expanding military cooperation.
