The son of a South Korean missionary detained in North Korea met with senior U.S. officials in Seoul this week to seek support for the release of his father and others in DPRK custody.

Choi Jin-young, co-founder of the ROK Hostages’ Families Association (ROKHFA), told NK News he delivered a letter calling on President Donald Trump to urge DPRK leader Kim Jong Un to free the detainees.

“I beg you to place the safe return of the South Korean detainees, including my father, Choi Chun-gil, at the highest priority of the United States’ diplomatic agenda regarding North Korea,” the letter
