South Korea has reaffirmed its commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Chinese President Xi Jinping omitted mention of the DPRK’s nuclear program at their summit this week.

During Tuesday’s regular briefing in Seoul, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry rejected the notion that Beijing had effectively acquiesced to North Korea’s status as a nuclear weapons state.
