Investigations Russian ship tied to North Korean arms smuggling docks at Indian portExpert accuses India of breaching sanctions by allowing Maia-1 to berth after Russian naval escort
A Russian ship linked to North Korean arms smuggling berthed at a key Indian naval hub this week, maritime data shows, a visit that an expert labeled a breach of U.N. sanctions. The Maia-1 (IMO 9358010) appeared to dock at the Indian port of Kochi (Cochin) on Wednesday, according to ship-trafficking data from MarineTraffic. The port of call followed the ship’s nearly 6,000-mile voyage from the Russian Far East as part of a convoy of Russian freighters sailing under naval escort. © Korea Risk Group. All rights reserved. |
