The parents of Otto Warmbier are mounting a new legal effort to seize millions in frozen assets recovered from a North Korea-linked nuclear proliferation network, nearly a decade since the American college student died following his detainment in the DPRK.

In a motion filed publicly with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on May 8, Cindy and Fred Warmbier requested a final turnover order for approximately $17.13 million in blocked funds to help satisfy a previous judgment they won against Pyongyang over their son’s death.
