Chinese President Xi Jinping departed for North Korea on Monday morning for a summit with DPRK counterpart Kim Jong Un, according to Chinese state media.

The state-run Xinhua news agency reported at 11 a.m. KST that Xi had left for North Korea on his “special aircraft.” 

The Chinese president was joined by his wife Peng Liyuan, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Xi’s top aide Cai Qi, among others, according to the news agency.
