North Korea has increased imports of Russian pork products so far this year, new data shows, as Moscow and Pyongyang expand trade in agricultural goods alongside fast-growing military and political cooperation.

In the first four months of 2026, Russia shipped over $2 million worth of “frozen edible pork by-products” to North Korea, the Agroexport Center, an export promotion arm of Russia’s Agriculture Ministry, reported on social media Tuesday.

The deliveries amounted to over 2,000 tons and followed a January shipment of 760 tons of pork worth $860,000.
