North Korea is set to continue exporting a cure-all drug touted as a treatment for cancer and other ailments to Russia in a likely sanctions breach, export filings show, following a wave of DPRK-made panaceas appearing on Russian online marketplaces. Russia’s Federal Service for Accreditation (FSA) filings show that Moscow-based sole proprietor Yekaterina Morozova submitted a declaration on May 6 to import Kumdang-5 pills from the Pyongyang-based Namsong Pharmaceutical Company. The pills, made from compressed ginseng roots, fall under Harmonized System Code 12, which covers medicinal plants.
