North Korea will convene a major party meeting in late June to review the implementation of annual plans and “a series of important issues,” state media announced on Monday.

In a two-sentence article, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported the politburo adopted a resolution on holding the second plenary meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) next month.

The plenum will conduct “an interim review of the implementation of the Party and state policies for 2026, and discuss the work in the second half of the year and a series of important issues.”
