The Trump administration has not given up on efforts to engage North Korea in pursuit of denuclearization, the leader of South Korea’s main opposition party said after a series of meetings with Washington officials.

Speaking to NK News on Thursday, People Power Party (PPP) chairman Jang Dong-hyeok said his trip to the U.S. was focused on coordinating on the secondary effects of the Iran war and the future of North Korea policy.

One of his objectives was to warn U.S. officials and Republicans about the alleged dangers of the Lee Jae Myung administration’s diplomacy-focused approach to North Korea, Jang said,
