South Korea will hold a ceremony for the first time in three years to repatriate the recovered remains of Chinese soldiers killed in the Korean War, when China fought on the North Korean side.

Seoul’s Defense Ministry said Tuesday that 12 sets of Chinese remains are scheduled to be repatriated in a transfer ceremony — the 13th of its kind — at Incheon International Airport on Wednesday. 

“This handover ceremony will resume as a vice minister-level public event for the first time in three years, reflecting the spirit of restoring South Korea-China relations and promoting good-neighborly friendship,” the ministry said in a
