The U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) condemned North Korea’s “systematic, widespread and gross” violations of its people’s human rights, adopting a resolution on Monday that seeks to hold the regime accountable with the support of South Korea and 49 other countries.

The resolution was adopted by consensus without a vote during the 61st UNHRC session in Geneva, calling for North Korea to implement recommendations made by independent experts to address its human rights violations, according to the council’s statement posted on social media Monday.

The list of recommendationsincludes ending the death penalty, political prison camps, torture and state-sponsored discrimination
