China will resume passenger train services to North Korea after a six year suspension starting Thursday, according to Beijing’s railway service, in a move that incrementally loosens some of the safety restrictions put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

China Railway confirmed the resumption of passenger train service to North Korea in a notice posted on social media Wednesday. 

The weekly service from Beijing  to North Korea, which will only be available for business-related travel, will be available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, according to the railway. A separate international passenger train between Dandong and Pyongyang will run daily
