A joint statement by the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) and Seoul-based Transitional Justice Working Group (TJWG) warned President Lee Jae Myung against abandoning co-sponsorship of the resolution set to be adopted at the 61st U.N. Human Rights Council session this month. Human rights activists have urged the South Korean government to co-sponsor a U.N. resolution on North Korean human rights, after reports suggested Seoul may refrain from doing so to support improved inter-Korean ties.
