North Korean troops continue to participate in combat operations against Ukraine despite the return of several thousand soldiers to the DPRK, carrying out artillery strikes from Russia’s Kursk region, according to Kyiv’s military intelligence. The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) reported on Wednesday that a “group” of DPRK soldiers was located in Kursk and attacking Ukrainian border communities as of last month. The agency did not state the number of North Korean troops that remain on active duty in Russia but noted that the Kursk corps regularly undergoes rotations.
