The North Korean leader’s influential sister Kim Yo Jong expressed appreciation on Thursday for South Korea’s acknowledgement of repeated civilian drone incursions across the border, but warned of “terrible consequences” if there are further incidents. 

In a statement released through the state-owned Korean Central News Agency, Kim commended South Korean Unification Minister Chung Dong-young for “expressing regret and a willingness to prevent recurrence” over the incursions.

However, she warned that South Korea must ensure “foolish acts that imperil themselves” are not repeated.

“Terrible consequences will be entailed if such violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK reoccurs, no matter
