New Zealand has slapped new sanctions on two North Korean military firms, part of a broader effort alongside allies to stem support for Russia’s military on the fourth anniversary of the Ukraine war.

These new sanctions target Moscow’s allies like North Korea, Belarus and Iran, Foreign Minister Winston Peters said in a release on Tuesday. 

The sanctions package also covers “alternative payment providers, malicious cyber actors and those supporting Russia’s military‑industrial complex,” he said.
