South Korea’s ruling Democratic Party (DP) will launch an official committee to support the restoration of inter-Korean relations and the return of dialogue between North Korea and the U.S., featuring an array of progressive advisers who advocate for Seoul to play a bigger role in engaging Pyongyang.

“We decided today to set up the Committee for New Korean Peninsula Peace Strategy,” a party spokesperson told NK News. 

The exact date of the committee’s launch has yet to be announced, according to the spokesperson.
