A group of South Korean companies that invested in inter-Korean cooperation projects have urged Seoul to lift unilateral sanctions against North Korea, which have halted cross-border trade since 2010.

Businesspeople from 10 inter-Korean cooperation organizations called for lifting the May 24 Measures at the unification ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Corporate Association of Gaesong Industrial Complex (CAGIC) told NK News. 

CAGIC is an association of companies that formerly operated in the Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) in the DPRK, where over 100 South Korean firms once produced goods using North Korean labor.

“The May 24 Measures dealt
