In a quiet section of southern Seoul, anyone in South Korea can now enter a small room through a pair of glass doors and peruse a publication that for decades has been classified as an existential threat to the state: North Korea’s party-run daily, the Rodong Sinmun.

The Information Center on North Korea at the National Library of Korea is one of a handful of locations where the ROK government began allowing visitors to read the banned Pyongyang mouthpiece at the start of the year, no questions asked.

On Tuesday, NK Newsvisited the center to see how authorities
