Authentic Labubu plush toys are not being manufactured in North Korea, according to the company behind the viral figures, following the emergence of footage purporting to show a DPRK factory assembling the sharp-toothed dolls.

A short video posted on China’s Douyin platform in late December, captioned “Labubu toy produced in North Korea,” showed dozens of people using sewing machines at a facility with DPRK propaganda posters on the walls. The messages include “self-reliant strength, self-reliant prosperity,” and “campaign for increased production and frugality.”
