American troops in South Korea have conducted live-fire drills of a new multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) near the border with North Korea, the U.S. Army announced this week. 

The 210 Field Artillery Brigade’s 1-38 Field Artillery Regiment became the first U.S. unit to fire the new M270A2 MLRS on the Korean Peninsula on Dec. 11, the Army said in a press release on Monday.
