Kim Jong Un inaugurated new factories and a leisure complex in a suburb of Pyongyang on Monday, according to state media, continuing an ongoing drive to develop the area as part of his signature regional development initiative.

The North Korean leader emphasized the need to “achieve a leap forward in the local areas and provide the people with precious entities of prosperity and civilization” to ensure development across the country, the state-owned Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Tuesday.
