The European Union imposed new sanctions on a North Korean general leading DPRK troops deployed to Russia, as part of measures aimed at curbing the two countries’ cooperation against Ukraine.

Cha Yong Bom, according to the EU’s official journal on Thursday, “has been identified as one of the senior DPRK military commanders deployed to Russia alongside DPRK troops in support of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.”
