News South Korean lawmaker says he shook hands with Kim Jong Un before China paradeWoo Won-shik also asks Putin to convey message of peace to North Korean leader amid strained inter-Korean ties
South Korea’s National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik shook hands and exchanged greetings with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ahead of China’s large-scale military parade on Wednesday, according to Woo’s office. The brief interaction took place despite the DPRK’s hardline policy describing the South as an “enemy state” and its rejection of the Lee Jae-myung administration’s recent diplomatic overtures to improve inter-Korean ties. “He briefly exchanged greetings with Chairman Kim Jong Un before attending the military parade,” an aide to Woo told NK News.“Although they both stood on the viewing platform at Tiananmen Square, they watched the parade from © Korea Risk Group.
