Two North Korean exporters of medical equipment like X-ray machines and physical therapy devices registered to protect their brands in Russia in July, amid a broader push by DPRK firms to enter the neighboring market.

Ryongaksan Technology Trading Company and Chongryu Moran Trading Company filed their trademark applications with Russia’s intellectual property watchdog (Rospatent) earlier this month, records show, likely in preparation to export their goods.

Both Pyongyang-based firms registered black and white logos: Chongryu’s depicts mountains along with the brand name Mannyonsan, while Ryongaksan’s features a horse and rider on a globe and its own name.
