North Korea’s main agricultural season is off to a favorable start this year, with timely rainfall and generally good weather supporting planting and early crop development, according to a new U.N. report, flagging a potentially stable period for the country’s food security following years of concern.

The country finished planting its main crops in June, following seasonal rains that began as expected in mid-April “favoring planting activities and supporting crop establishment and early development,” the U.N.
