North Korea is hoping to face off against Russia’s national soccer team following two matches with local clubs over the past week and as a Russian coach appears to have set his sights on a DPRK player.

Kim Chung Jin, the manager of the DPRK national team, reportedly stated in a recent interview after a match against Russia’s Baltika club that his country is “looking forward to a match” with the Russian national team.

North Korea drew against Kaliningrad-based Baltika in a match played in Turkey on Tuesday, following a 1-0 victory over another Russian regional club, Tyumen, on Sunday.
