South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol met a visiting Ukrainian delegation on Wednesday and discussed joint efforts to counter North Korean military support for Russia’s invasion, amid attention on whether Seoul will send weapons and a monitoring team to Ukraine.

During the meeting, Yoon stressed the importance of developing “practical countermeasures” against security challenges stemming from North Korea’s troop deployment to Russia, according to a press release from Seoul’s Presidential Office. 

Yoon’s office added that Ukrainian defense minister Rustem Umerov, who led the interagency delegation which also included economic and foreign ministry officials, provided detailed updates on the situation in Ukraine
