ROK says weapons could bolster DPRK’s vulnerable air defense networks but expert says integrating systems will take time

North Korea has received air defense systems and anti-aircraft missiles from Russia in return for dispatching troops to support Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, South Korea’s national security adviser claimed on Friday.

Shin Won-sik said during an interview with South Korean public broadcaster SBS News that Russia provided the equipment to reinforce North Korea’s vulnerable air defense networks, alongside other military technology transfers and economic support.
