Russian military jet flies to Pyongyang amid reports of DPRK troops in Ukraine

But expert raises doubts that combat troops would be flown to frontline, suggests senior personnel using VIP jet

A Russian military jet flew directly from Moscow to Pyongyang on Thursday amid reports that North Korea is sending troops to support Russia in Ukraine. The same plane last traveled to the DPRK’s capital last month from Russia’s Far East.

The Russian Air Force’s Ilyushin Il-62M jet (tail number RA-86559) landed at Sunan International Airport at around 3:40 p.m. KST after a nine-hour flight from the Moscow area, according to aviation-tracking service Flightradar24.
