More Western tech found in North Korean missile used in strike on Ukraine

Analysts uncover parts from US and Europe in debris from Russian attack, underlining DPRK’s success in evading sanctions

North Korea sourced multiple Western components for a ballistic missile that Russia used in a strike against Ukraine in September, according to new analysis by Kyiv-based investigators, further confirming Pyongyang’s success in evading sanctions to acquire parts for its weapons programs.

The Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) examined debris from a KN-23/24 missile found near Myrne and Bilyky in the Poltava region after a Russian attack on Sept. 7.
