CIA seeks new North Korean informants, declaring it’s ‘open for business’

US agency releases Korean instructions on how to contact securely in bid to expand intel-gathering on secretive country

The CIA has launched a new initiative to cultivate North Korean informants, rolling out instructions on how to contact the U.S. agency via social media and the dark web in a bid to expand its network in one of the world’s most challenging intelligence targets.

The release of text-only videos and infographics in Korean aims to instruct potential informants on “how to reach the CIA as securely as possible,” according to a press release on Wednesday, stating that the spy agency is “open for business.”
