A VIP Russian government jet made a quick flight to North Korea’s east coast on Thursday night, aviation data showed, less than a week after Russia’s top security official Sergei Shoigu visited Pyongyang.

Russia’s Special Flight Squadron Tupolev Tu-154 (tail number RA-85843) departed from Vladivostok at around 7:30 p.m. KST on Thursday, switching off its signal at 8:19 p.m. as it flew toward the city of Wonsan, according to tracking services Flightradar24 and FlightAware.

The jet was later spotted gaining altitude above the city of Munchon, near Wonsan, at 2:17 a.m. on Friday, before eventually landing in Vladivostok at 3:08
