Russia issued a license for a local company to import beer from China, not North Korea, contrary to reports in Russian and South Korean media.

The Russian business daily RBC reported on Tuesday that a company called Vostokbeertrade from the Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur received permission to import North Korean beer, citing the RusAccreditation government agency in charge of certifying goods.

The outlet identified the DPRK supplier as Heilongjiang Quanrun Beer Co and reported that it was set to export beer brands such as XINBALU 1999 and Harbin Station.
