News Russia sends 240 goats to North Korea in second shipment this monthExports come amid plans to ship thousands of goats to the DPRK as part of apparent push to diversify citizens’ diets
Russia has exported hundreds of goats to North Korea for the second time this month amid reports that Moscow plans to supply thousands of goats to Pyongyang over the next three years. One expert said the exports suggest the DPRK is promoting goat farming in an attempt to diversify citizens’ diets. Russia’s veterinary customs agency announced on Wednesday that 240 Saanen dairy goats entered the DPRK via the Khasan railway crossing on Sunday after being quarantined in the Leningrad region. The delivery took place on the same day as Russia sent two dozen purebred Orlov Trotter horses to North Korea. © Korea Risk Group. All rights reserved. |
