South Korea reconvenes advisory body on unification plans with North Korea

Activist says body has no power to set policy but that members could help push updates to outdated inter-Korean policy

South Korea reconvened a planning committee on Friday that will recommend changes to the government's long-term unification strategy based on input from defectors, young people and members of the international community.

The Unification Future Planning Committee, an advisory body to the unification minister, held the first plenary session of its second term at a press center in Seoul, according to a unification ministry press release.
