North Korea celebrates Kim Jong Un’s Hanoi trip, but not his summit with Trump

State media marks fifth anniversary of summit with Vietnam while making no mention of failed US-DPRK talks on same visit

North Korean state media celebrated the fifth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Un’s “historic Hanoi summit” in Feb. 2019 — but not the one with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Voice of Korea, North Korea’s state radio broadcasting service, reported on Saturday that the agreements the DPRK reached with Vietnam in 2019 served as an “important milestone for strengthening strategic cooperation.”
